The Roofing Warranty Certificate is an essential document that guarantees the quality and durability of your roof installation. It provides homeowners with peace of mind, assuring them that their roof will be free from leaks caused by substandard workmanship for an extended period. To ensure your protection under this warranty, consider filling out the form by clicking the button below.
What is the Roofing Warranty Certificate?
The Roofing Warranty Certificate is a document provided by MCS Roofing that outlines the warranty terms for a roof installation. This certificate assures homeowners that their roof will be free from leaks caused by poor workmanship for the life of the roof, which is defined as a 50-year period from the warranty issue date.
What benefits does the warranty offer?
This warranty includes lifetime craftsmanship coverage, meaning that any leaks resulting from substandard installation will be addressed by MCS Roofing at no additional cost to the homeowner. Additionally, the warranty is transferable, allowing future homeowners to benefit from the coverage as long as the transfer is requested in writing and signed by the original homeowner.
When does the warranty take effect?
The warranty becomes effective only after the roof installation is completed and all associated material and labor costs have been paid in full. It is important for homeowners to ensure that these conditions are met to activate the warranty.
What issues are not covered by the warranty?
The warranty does not cover damages caused by defective materials or issues arising from improper construction of the home. For example, problems due to warped sheathing boards or structural movement are excluded. Furthermore, damages resulting from natural disasters such as floods, fires, or earthquakes are also not covered.
What should a homeowner do if a problem occurs?
If any issues arise, homeowners must promptly notify MCS Roofing. If the problem is due to workmanship, MCS Roofing will fix it at no cost. However, if the issue is unrelated to their work, reasonable repair charges will apply. Homeowners should be aware that failure to report problems in a timely manner may void the warranty.
How often does the roof need to be cleaned?
To maintain the warranty, the roof must be cleaned every two years. MCS Roofing will determine if the roof can go longer without cleaning. It's crucial that this cleaning is performed by MCS Roofing; otherwise, the warranty will be void. Homeowners should also be prepared for additional cleaning fees, which must be paid on the day of service.
Are there any exclusions to the warranty?
Yes, several exclusions exist. These include damages from natural disasters, structural movement, and any alterations made to the roof. For instance, if a homeowner installs equipment or penetrates the roof surface for any reason, this could void the warranty. Homeowners should refrain from tampering with the roof to ensure continued coverage.
What happens if the warranty is voided?
If the warranty is voided due to failure to meet the outlined conditions, such as not paying for repairs or not reporting issues promptly, homeowners will lose the benefits of the warranty. It is essential to adhere to all terms and conditions to keep the warranty valid and protect your investment.
The Roofing Warranty Certificate is an essential document for homeowners who have recently had a roof installed. However, several other forms and documents often accompany this warranty. Each serves a unique purpose in ensuring the homeowner's rights and responsibilities are clearly defined and protected.
Understanding these documents can help homeowners navigate their rights and responsibilities regarding their roofing warranty. Each form plays a critical role in protecting both the homeowner and the contractor throughout the warranty period.

Filling out the Roofing Warranty Certificate form is a crucial step in ensuring that your roof is protected under the warranty. However, many homeowners make common mistakes that can jeopardize their coverage. One frequent error is failing to provide complete information. Homeowners often overlook filling in essential details such as the warranty issue date or the warranted project address. Incomplete forms can lead to delays in processing and may even void the warranty.
Another common mistake is not reading the warranty terms thoroughly. Many individuals skim through the terms and conditions without fully understanding their implications. This can result in misunderstandings about what is covered and what is not. Homeowners should take the time to familiarize themselves with the warranty’s exclusions and conditions to avoid unexpected costs later on.
Additionally, neglecting to notify MCS Roofing promptly about any issues can be detrimental. The warranty stipulates that homeowners must report problems as soon as they arise. Failing to do so may lead to the warranty becoming null and void. Timely communication is essential for maintaining the warranty’s validity and ensuring that any workmanship issues are addressed without charge.
Another mistake involves overlooking the cleaning requirements. The warranty specifies that the roof must be cleaned every two years, unless otherwise determined by MCS Roofing. Homeowners often forget this requirement, which can jeopardize their warranty coverage. It is important to schedule and complete the cleaning as directed to ensure the warranty remains in effect.
Finally, many people assume the warranty covers all types of damage. However, the warranty explicitly excludes coverage for damages caused by natural disasters, structural movement, or alterations made to the roof. Homeowners should be aware of these exclusions to avoid confusion and ensure they understand the limits of their warranty protection.
